The story, in Mila's own words
Hi, my name is Mila and this is our story. My husband and I met in 2016 when he came to Germany as a tourist. What began with small conversations and long walks slowly grew into something deeper and more meaningful. Very quickly, we realized this wasn't just a simple encounter — it was the beginning of our future.
But our love story wasn't easy. We were living in different countries. He was born in Macedonia and I was living in Germany. So for two years, our relationship meant constant traveling between Germany and Macedonia. Airports became part of our story. Suitcases were never fully unpacked. Time together always felt too short. Saying goodbye became something we had to get used to. But every time, we made the same decision: we chose to continue. We chose to fight for us. We chose each other despite the distance.
I was born in Russia, but I moved to Germany at a very young age because my father is German. You would think that having German roots would make things easier one day — especially when it comes to marriage. But surprisingly, it made things even more complicated when it came to documents and bureaucracy.
In 2018, after two years of long distance, we knew one thing for sure: we didn't want to live between airports anymore. We wanted to build our life together. So we decided to get married. And that's when reality hit us. The bureaucracy in Germany felt overwhelming. Documents, translations, apostilles, waiting times — every step felt complicated and stressful. Instead of feeling excited about planning our wedding, we felt exhausted. I remember sitting there and thinking, there has to be a simpler way.
That's when I discovered Denmark. The process was clear. The requirements were transparent. The communication was straightforward. For the first time, everything felt organized and realistic. So we chose Copenhagen. And I will never forget that day at Copenhagen City Hall. The building was beautiful. The atmosphere was calm and warm. The staff were kind and welcoming. Everything felt respectful, human, and stress-free. There was no confusion, no endless paperwork — in that moment, just love. It was simple, and at the same time magical.
That experience changed everything for us. We realized that so many international couples face exactly what we once faced — complicated rules, uncertainty, unnecessary stress, when getting married should be one of the happiest moments of your life. And that's why we created Denmark Wedding Services. We guide couples step by step through documents, applications, and appointments — so the experience can be what it truly should be: simple, romantic, magical.
Because getting married should never feel like paperwork.
